San Diego Summer Surf Camps at Moonlight Beach, Encinitas

 Ride the waves this summer! Join our premier San Diego County surf camps for the ultimate ocean adventure. Whether your child is a "grom" catching their first wave or a teen sharpening their skills, our international team of mentors provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment.

Camp Details & Pricing

  • Ages: Suitable for Groms (5-7), Kids and Teens (8-18). Adult participation available upon inquiry.

  • Dates: Weekly sessions run from June through the end of August.

  • Location: Moonlight Beach, Encinitas (North of the main tower).

  • Time: Monday – Friday | Morning Camps: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

  • Ratios: Industry-leading safety ratios of 1:3 (1:1 for Groms).

The Buenas Olas Camp Experience

Located at our signature light-blue tent north of the Moonlight Beach lifeguard tower, our camps are designed for all levels. We offer a structured progression that builds confidence and lifelong memories.


What Your Child Will Learn:

  • Daily Multilingual Surf Lessons: Personalized coaching in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, or Sign Language (by request).

  • Advanced Ocean Safety: Led by CPR-certified instructors, we teach kids how to read tides, understand wave mechanics, and respect the environment.

  • Surf Etiquette & Culture: Navigating the "lineup" with responsibility and kindness.

how to find us

Alongside other surf schools, we are located North of Moonlight Beach. Please park at Moonlight Beach Parking Lot, walk to the beach and head North until you see our light-blue Buenas Olas tent and boards. The walk from the Parking Lot to our Location takes about 7 minutes. Please plan to arrive accordingly and feel free to give us a call if you have any questions on how to find us.
