At Buenas Olas (Spanish for "Good Waves"), our mission is to share our passion for the ocean in a fun, dynamic, and inclusive setting. As one of the top San Diego County surf schools, we specialize in high-quality instruction that prioritizes ocean safety and respect for the environment.
The Team: Led by Cruz, an expert surf mentor with decades of experience in surfboard shaping and global surf exploration, our school provides a welcoming space for everyone—regardless of age, size, gender, or ability.
Language & Inclusion: We are proud to offer bilingual surf lessons in English and Spanish to encourage diversity and ensure every student feels at home in the water. To further our commitment to accessibility, we also offer classes in Portuguese, German, and Sign Language (available upon request, subject to availability).

Encinitas Surfing: Summer Camps & Youth Programs
Looking for the ultimate summer experience? Our Encinitas surf camps are the highlight of the season. Held at our signature light-blue tent north of the main Moonlight Beach lifeguard tower, our camps offer kids and teens a safe environment to build confidence, learn wave mechanics, and make lifelong friends.
